And he is sold as Mumbai Indians opt not to retain the player.

10:14  Yuvraj fetches the highest price in Round 1:   Yuvraj Singh commanded the highest price in the opening round of the IPL Auction as Royal Challengers Bangalore paid a whopping Rs. 14 crore for him.But his former India team mate Virender Sehwag went for 3.20 crore to Kings XI Punjab as Delhi Daredevils opted not to retain him.The second highest bid went to Kevin Pietersen who was retained by Delhi Daredevils using the RTM option after Sunrisers Hyderabad had made the highest bid of Rs. 9 crore.Delhi Daredevils also bought India Test opener Murali Vijay for Rs. 5 crore but decided not to retain David Warner, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 5.5 crore.Kings XI Punjab made a big bid of 6.5 crore for Australia’s Ashes bowling hero Mitchell Johnson as Mumbai opted not to exercise the RTM option.Kolkata Knight Riders used the right to match option to get back Jacques Kallis for 5.5 crore.Sri Lankan batting icon Mahela Jayawardene surprisingly went unsold.


10:08  Kings XI Punjab buy Johnson for 6.5 crore:   Australia’s Ashes hero Mitchell Johnson is the final player in the first round of the Auction.It triggers an intense bidding war right from the start between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab and in no time the bid is up to 6.5 crore.Chennai back out as Punjab get Johnson for 6.5 crore.Mumbai Indians have ruled out the Right to Match option as Kings XI Punjab get Mitchell Johnson.


10:05  Sunrisers Hyderabad buy Warner for 5.5 crore:  Australian dashing batsman David Warner is up for grabs now, starting with a base price of 1.5 crore.Mumbai Indians with the opening bid before Sunrisers Hyderabad jump into the picture.The amount goes up to Rs. 3 crore and keeps on climbing to 4 crore within no time.Hyderabad in no mood to relent while Mumbai seem determined to get the Australian opener as they up the bid to Rs. 5 crore before SH go up to 5.5 cr.So the player is sold to Sunrisers for 5.5 crore as Delhi opt not to retain Warner.


10:01  Kings XI Punjab buy Sehwag for 3.20 crore:  Former India batting great Virender Sehwag comes into the picture now.Will Delhi coach Gary Kirsten retain his one-time favourite player during his time as the Indian coach?There are no bids initially before Punjab opening the bidding at 2.20 crore and Mumbai Indians jump into the picture with 2.60 before Punjab up it to 2.80 and Mumbai raise it to 3 crore.Punjab not giving up as they raise it to 3.20 cr and Mumbai have backed out.Surprisingly, Delhi have opted not to retain Sehwag using the Right to Match option.


09:57  Kolkata retain Kallis for 5.5 crore:   South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis comes into the bidding now.His base price is Rs. 2 crore.Chennai make the opening bid as Delhi Daredevils enter the picture after CSK bid Rs. 2.80 crore.KKR make a fresh bid of Rs. 3 crore triggering another bidding war with CSK, who up the bid to 5.5 crore and they are no more bids.But Kolkata Knight Riders have the option to Right to match which they use to retain Kallis.


09:54  RCB buy Yuvraj for 14 crore:   Yuvraj Singh in the fray now.Kings XI Punjab make the opening bid at his base price of Rs. 2 crore as Rajasthan Royals come into the picture.For the first time we have Royal Challengers Bangalore and it is turning out to be a thrilling with bids raining every second.RCB have upped the ante to Rs. 10 crore for Yuvraj Singh. Kings XI Punjab have opted out it seems.Just when it looked that RCB had grabbed the winning bid, Kolkata Knight Riders have jumped into the fray.IPL Auctioneer Madlee initially says he didn’t see their bid but he has accepted their take.The bid now goes up to Rs. 14 crore still in favour of RCB.


09:48  Delhi Daredevils retain Pietersen:  Here, comes the big fish – Kevin Pietersen.He starts with a base price of Rs. 2 crore and it is raining bids between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab.Punjab going out all as it goes up to 4.20 cr but Sunrisers enter the fray at 5 cr.Chennai and Sunrisers in a keen tussle as the bid goes up to 8 crore.Sunrisers have bought Pietersen for 9 crore.Meanwhile, Delhi Darevils have exercised their Right to Match option and got Pietersen in their team for Rs. 9 crore.


09:44  Jayawardene goes unsold:  Sri Lankan batting ace Mahela Jayawardene is the second player up for grabs. But surprisingly, no bids for him and he goes in to the unsold Pool.


09:43  Murali Vijay is the first player sold at 2014 IPL Auction:   Murali Vijay is the first player to go under the hammer. His base price is Rs. 2 crore and as expected Chennai Super Kings are the first to bid for him.Delhi Daredevils with 2.20 followed by CSK for 2.40 and Mumbai up it to 2.80.Delhi back in the race as they raise it to Rs. 3 crore.Sunrisers Hyderabad make a fresh bid of 3.20 cr but Delhi are not giving up as the bid goes up to 5 cr in their favour.And Delhi have successfully bought the first player at the 2014 IPL Auction, grabbing Murali Vijay for 5 crore.


09:39  IPL Auction will be conducted in Indian rupees:  IPL CEO Sundar Raman confirms that the Players Auction will be conducted in Indian Rupees.Auctioneer Richard Madley has come on the stage and he will get the auction underway.


09:36  2014 IPL Auction set to kick-off:   We are all set for the 2014 IPL Auction, which will get underway in a few minutes. Rahul Dravid is spotted in the Rajasthan Royals camp, while Juhi Chawla smiles away with her Kolkata Knight Riders gang.Former India coach Gary Kirsten will be with Delhi Daredevils, who have not retained any players ahead of the auction. Anil Kumble will be part of the Mumbai Indians camp.Also spotted at the Auction Hall in ITC Gardenia Hall in Bangalore is Bollywood superstar Ranbir Khan but he is not part of any team but merely there courtesy of the sponsors Pepsi India.
